I am also showing some of my Burlesque prints in Collingwood Gallery in an exhibition titled Beauty. from 9-23 June and of course the 8 storey high projection for Nocturne in Dandenong. My mum and nephew are coming to visit for that one - wonder what impression it will make on a 3 year old?!
Along the making a list of your achievements to date to stave off the "am I good enough" niggles, line, I am very proud to say that my some of my Liney work has been selected as one of 8 artists at Carbon Black gallery in Prahran for an exhibition opening 01 June called O Brave New World, explorations in Urban and Industrial Art. There is a chance to win a solo exhibition from entering this show, so fingers crossed, that would be fabulous.

Awesome, some promotion by the ETU!!!! Check out the website........ . http://www.etu.asn.au/ Sharron Okines describes her prints, from a body of work titled ‘Love letter’ as being inspired by images of her husband at work. ‘I have always liked to look upwards. The dramatic shapes that are created by looking upward through these images fascinate me. I am exploring the place of these workers in their space in our communities. I hope my interpretations will draw attention to the unseen familiar and create dialogue around the quietly diligent men who ensure one of our most essential services.’ Sharron’s series, a group of linocut, drypoint and aquatint etching prints was exhibited in Brunswick Street Gallery’s recent printmaking show. Her description of Lineworkers as people ‘Very proud of the work they do, but reluctant to draw attention to themselves’ should make every linie proud.
